Juventus vs. Inter Milan: Final score 1-3 as the Nerazzurri break Juve's undefeated streak

Juventus may have taken the lead after less than thirty seconds, but it was Inter Milan that came away from Turin with the win, thanks to a brace from Diego Milito and an insurance goal from Rodrigo Palacio.

The match started off brightly for the home side as they showed off their teamwork skills. The move started with the whistle as the ball passed from foot to foot, eventually reaching Kwadwo Asamoah on the left. He executed the perfect pass to Arturo Vidal, who had no trouble turning Juan and putting the ball past Samir Handanovic for the early lead.

That's about the last time Juve could claim the high ground, however. By the halftime whistle, we had yet more calcio controversy on our hands. First, replays showed Asamoah clearly offside when he received the ball from Mirko Vucinic. Even more upsetting to most was referee Paolo Tagliavento's reluctance to give a second yellow card to Stephan Lichtsteiner, who went in with his foot up on Rodrigo Palacio. Lichtsteiner had been booked just minutes before after a clash with Esteban Cambiasso. Realizing he had a firecracker on his hands, Angelo Alessio replaced the Swiss with Martín Cáceres before the half had ended.

Inter had a great chance in the 54th minute,breaking quickly away to sprint toward the goal of Gianluigi Buffon. Milito had Antonio Cassano on his left and Palacio on his right, both of them in plenty of space. Milito chose his fellow Argentine, but Palacio elected to dodge around Giorgio Chilleni, missing his chance and eventually putting the ball over the bar.

The visitors made up for the wasted chance just three minutes later. Cassano played a beautiful ball through to Yuto Nagatomo, whose shot forced Buffon into a diving save, pushing the ball away. When trying to capitalize on the rebound, the referee spotted a foul and blew for a free kick. Milito was ready to pounce, but was held back by Claudio Marchisio, who had both hands intertwined in the Argentine's shirt.

It was Milito himself who stepped up to take the resulting penalty, and what a lovely one it was. Buffon stood his ground in the center of goal, but the forward tricked him, at the last moment placing his shot to the left. 57 minutes in, and Inter had drawn level.

And then there it was -- the possible winner, the shot to save calcio. In the 76th minute, Fredy Guarín sent off a powerful shot from just outside the area. Buffon could do nothing except push the ball away. Leonardo Bonucci tried to rescue his side, but Milito was too quick, slipping in to put the ball in the back of the net.

With their undefeated streak in danger, Alessio, with just one substitute left, threw whatever he could at the nerazzurri, removing substitute Caceres in favor of forward Fabio Quagliarella. Stramaccioni responded with his own change, repla
cing Milito with defensive midfielder Gaby Mudingayi.

With less than ten minutes left to play, Inter nearly threw their lead away, thanks to a sloppy backpass by Walter Gargano. Nicklas Bendtner slipped in to grab the ball, but the tight angle meant he could only roll his shot across the face of goal. There was no one from Juventus to follow it up for the equalizer, however.

In the 90th minute, Inter Milan put the match away, and the tired Juve defense just let them pass through. Nagatomo sent the ball through to Palacio, who found himself in plenty of space, one on one with Buffon. The keeper got a glove on it, but could only help the ball through into the back of the net.
